حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي ضَمْضَمُ بْنُ زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ، كَانَ لِأَحَدِهِمْ عَشَرَةُ دَنَانِيرَ فَتَصَدَّقَ مِنْهَا بِدِينَارٍ، وَكَانَ لِآخَرَ عَشَرَةُ أَوَاقٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ مِنْهَا بِأُوقِيَّةٍ، وَآخَرُ كَانَ لَهُ مِائَةُ أُوقِيَّةٍ فَتَصَدَّقَ بِعَشَرَةِ أَوَاقٍ» . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «هُمْ فِي الْأَجْرِ سَوَاءٌ، كُلٌّ قَدْ تَصَدَّقَ بِعُشْرِ مَالِهِ» قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: {لِيُنْفِقْ ذُو سَعَةٍ مِنْ سَعَتِهِ} [الطلاق: ٧]
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Malik al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There were three men. One of them had ten dinars and gave one dinar of them in charity; another had ten uqiyahs and gave one uqiyah of them in charity; and the third had a hundred uqiyahs and gave ten uqiyahs of them in charity." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are all equal in reward; each of them gave a tenth of his wealth in charity." Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: "Let the one who has abundance spend according to his abundance" [Surah al-Talaq: 7].
