حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ بَزِيغٍ، ثنا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ سَاعِدَةَ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ أَنَّ حُذَيْفَةَ كَانَ يَقُولُ: مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ أَقَرَّ لِعَيْنِي وَلَا أَحَبَّ لِنَفْسِي مِنْ يَوْمٍ آتِي أَهْلِي فَلَا أَجِدُ عِنْدَهُمْ طَعَامًا، وَيَقُولُونَ: مَا نَقْدِرُ عَلَى قَلِيلٍ وَلَا كَثِيرٍ. وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ اللهَ أَشَدُّ حِمْيَةً لِلْمُؤْمِنِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْمَرِيضِ أَهْلُهُ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ، وَاللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَشَدُّ تَعَاهُدًا لِلْمُؤْمِنِ بِالْبَلَاءِ مِنَ الْوَالِدِ لِوَلَدِهِ بِالْخَيْرِ»
Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The day most delightful to my eyes and most beloved to me is the day I come to my family and find no food with them, and they say: "We have neither little nor much." And he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah keeps the believer away from the world more strictly than a sick person's family keep him away from food; and Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, looks after the believer through trials far more than a father looks after his child through good things."
