حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْهَرَوِيُّ، أَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، ثنا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: قَالَ لِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ: أَيُّ وَاحِدٍ أَنْتَ إِنْ أَخْبَرْتَنِي أَيُّ عَلَامَةٍ كَانَتْ يَوْمَ قُتِلَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: «لَمْ تُرْفَعْ حَصَاةٌ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ إِلَّا وُجِدَ تَحْتَهَا دَمٌ عَبِيطٌ» . فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ: إِنِّي وَإِيَّاكَ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ لَقَرِينَانِ
Al-Zuhri said: Abd al-Malik bin Marwan said to me: How great (a scholar) you are if you can tell me what sign appeared on the day Husayn bin Ali was martyred! I said: No pebble was lifted in Bayt al-Maqdis except that fresh blood came out from beneath it. At this Abd al-Malik said: You and I are alike companions in this report.
