حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ، ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْحَوْرَاءِ، قَالَ: قِيلَ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا: أَيَّ شَيْءٍ حَفِظْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: مَا حَفِظْتُ مِنْهُ إِلَّا كَلِمَاتٍ أَقُولُهُنَّ فِي الْوِتْرِ: «اللهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ، وَعَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ، وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ، وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ؛ إِنَّكَ تَقْضِي وَلَا يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ، تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ»
Abu al-Hawra' said: Sayyiduna Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked: What have you memorised from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: I have memorised from him only a few words which I say in the witr: "O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, grant me well-being among those You have granted well-being, take me as Your friend among those You have taken as friends, bless me in what You have given me, and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed; for indeed You decree and none can decree against You. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted."
