Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2291 — When the Prophet ﷺ sent out a detachment

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً قَالَ: «بِسْمِ اللهِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ، لَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تُمَثِّلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا الْوِلْدَانَ»
Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent out a detachment (sariyyah), he would say: "In the name of Allah, in the path of Allah, and upon the religion of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Do not steal from the spoils, do not break covenants, do not mutilate (the dead), and do not kill children."
