Hashraj bin Nubatah al-Ashja'i narrates from his paternal grandmother that she went out on the expedition with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Khaybar, the sixth of six women. When this reached the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for them and said: "With whose permission did you come out?" And I saw signs of anger in him (peace and blessings be upon him). We said: O Messenger of Allah! We came out because we have medicine with which we treat the wounded; we hand over arrows, give people sawiq (barley mash) to drink, spin hair, and help in the path of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Stay." Then, when Allah granted him (peace and blessings be upon him) the conquest of Khaybar, he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us a share just as he gave the men. The narrator said: I asked: What was it? She said: Dates.
