Al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We visited Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her), and she presented us with fresh dates as a gift and filled us with barley sawiq, and she said: It was announced among the people: The prayer in congregation is about to begin! So I went out among the women who went, and I was in the first row of the women, which adjoined the last row of the men. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Some cousins of Tamim al-Dari sailed on the sea, and their ship cast them onto one of the islands of the sea. There they saw a beast concealed by its hair. When the people looked at it, it said: I am al-Jassasah, and in that monastery there is someone who is intensely eager to see you. So the people went on, and they found a human being shackled in iron, and they confronted him. It was as if their coming pleased him, and he asked them: Has your companion come out? They said: Yes. He said: What is the state of the lake of Tiberias? We said: Full of water. He said: What is the state of the date palms of Baysan? We said: They have borne fruit. He said: And the spring of Zughar? We said: Full of water. He said: Listen, if I were to come out, I would tread over all the lands except Makkah and Taybah." Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: It is as if I am looking at the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) as he raised his hand: "This is Taybah", pointing towards Madinah.
