Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the caller of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) calling out: Gather for the prayer! So I went out with some women of the Ansar until we reached the mosque, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the Zuhr prayer. Then he ascended the pulpit and turned his face towards us, smiling, and then said: "By Allah! I have not gathered you for something to hope for nor for something to fear, but because of an account which Tamim al-Dari narrated to me. He came to me, accepted Islam and gave the pledge of allegiance, and he told me that he had boarded (a ship) with thirty men from Lakhm and Judham, and these two are among the tribes of the Arabs from the people of Yemen. The sea met them at a time when it was stormy, and the waves played with them for a month; then, close to sunset, they cast them onto one of the islands of the sea. Suddenly we came across a very hairy beast whose front could not be told from its back. We said: O beast! What are you? Allah gave it permission, and it spoke to us in a clear and fluent tongue, and said: I am al-Jassasah. We said: What is al-Jassasah? It said: Get away from me; go to that monastery at the far end of the island, for in it there is a man who is intensely eager for your news. He said: So we came to the monastery, and there was a man, the biggest man I have ever seen, and the finest of them in body. His right eye was blotted out, as though his eye were a spot of phlegm on a plastered wall. Both his hands were tied to his neck, and both his feet were bound with fetters from his knees to his feet. We said to him: O man! What are you? He said: As for my news, it has already reached you; but tell me your news: what has brought you onto this island? For since I came to this island no human being has reached it. So we told him, and he said: Tell me about the lake of Tiberias: what is its state? We said: About which aspect of it are you asking? He said: Has its water dried up? And have any wonders appeared in it? We said: No. He said: Listen! That will surely happen. Then he was silent for a long while, then said: Tell me about the spring of Zughar: what is its state? We said: About which aspect of it are you asking? He said: Do its people farm with (its water)? We said: Yes. He said: Listen! Its water will surely sink into the ground. Then he was silent for a long while, then said: Tell me about the date palms of Baysan: what is their state? We said to him: About which aspect of them are you asking? He said: Do they bear fruit? We said: Yes. He said: Listen! They will not bear fruit. Then he was silent for a long while, then said: Tell me about the unlettered Prophet: what has become of him? We said: About which aspect of him are you asking? He said: Has he appeared? We said: Yes. He said: What have the Arabs done with him? We said to him: Some of them have fought him and some of them have believed him. He said: Listen! Whoever believes him, that is better for him. Then we said: O man! Tell us your news. He said: Do you not know me? We said: Had we known you, we would not have asked you. He said: I am the Dajjal. Soon I will be given permission to come out, and when I come out I will tread over all the lands of the Arabs except Makkah and Taybah; whenever I intend to enter either of them, an angel with a drawn sword in his hand will confront me and turn me back from them." Abu al-Ash'hab said: Amir al-Sha'bi said: Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raise both his hands until we saw the whiteness of his armpits, then he said: "Shall I not tell you that this is Taybah?" three times. Then he said: "Shall I not tell you that he is in the sea of Syria?" three times. Then a kind of swoon came over him (peace and blessings be upon him) for a while, then he found rest, then the state was lifted from him, and he said: "Rather, he is in the sea of Iraq. He will come out, when he comes out, from a village of a town called Isfahan, (a village) called Rustaqabad, and in front of him there will come out seventy thousand people wearing special shawls. With him there will be two rivers, a river of water and a river of fire. So whoever of you lives to see that, and is told: Enter the water, let him not enter it, for in reality it is fire; and when he is told: Enter the fire, let him enter it, for in reality it is water."
