حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادِ بْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ بِنْتِ حَمْزَةَ، وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ، أُخْتُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ لِأُمِّهِ، قَالَتْ: «مَاتَ لَنَا مُكَاتَبٌ هِيَ أَعْتَقَتْهُ، فَتَرَكَ ابْنَتَهُ، وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسَمَ مِيرَاثَهُ، فَأَعْطَى ابْنَتَهُ النِّصْفَ، وَأَعْطَى أُمَّ الْفَضْلِ النِّصْفَ الْبَاقِي»
Umm al-Fadl bint Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with her), who was the maternal sister of Abdullah bin Shaddad, said: "A mukatab slave of ours, whom she had freed on the completion of his contract of manumission, died and left behind his daughter. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) divided his inheritance: he gave his daughter half and gave Umm al-Fadl the remaining half."
