حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ حُذَيْفَةَ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ، أَنَّهَا: دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَ بِسِقَاءٍ فَعُلِّقَ عَلَى شَجَرَةٍ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ تَحْتَهُ فَجَعَلَ يَقْطُرُ عَلَى فُؤَادِهِ فَقُلْتُ: ادْعُ اللهَ فَيَكْشِفُ عَنْكَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ بَلَاءً الْأَنْبِيَاءُ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ»
It is narrated from the narrator's paternal aunt that she went in to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) had a water-skin brought, which was hung on a tree; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down beneath it, and it began dripping onto his (peace and blessings be upon him) heart. I said: Supplicate to Allah to remove this from you. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The people most severely tested are the prophets, then those who come after them."
