حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الْعَبْسِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ، عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ، عَنْ أُخْتِ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَتْ: قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ أَمَا لَكُنَّ فِي الْفِضَّةِ مَا تَحَلَّيْنَهُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ تَحَلَّى ذَهَبًا فَتُظْهِرُهُ إِلَّا عُذِّبَتْ بِهِ»
Sayyidah Khawlah bint al-Yaman al-Absiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), the sister of Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among us, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: "O women, is silver not sufficient for you to adorn yourselves with? Any woman who wears gold and displays it will be punished for it."
