Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2076 — A man struck another man with a sword

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، ثنا دَهْثَمُ بْنُ قُرَّانٍ، ثنا نِمْرَانُ بْنُ جَارِيَةَ الْحَنَفِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: ضَرَبَ رَجُلٌ رَجُلًا بِالسَّيْفِ عَلَى سَاعِدِهِ عَلَى غَيْرِ مَفْصِلٍ فَاسْتَعْدَى عَلَيْهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَضَى لَهُ بِالدِّيَةِ وَأَرَادَ الْمَضْرُوبُ الْقِصَاصَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «بَارَكَ اللهُ لَكَ فِيهَا» وَلَمْ يَقْضِ لَهُ بِالْقِصَاصِ

Sayyiduna Jariyah bin Zafar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: A man struck another man with a sword on his forearm, at a place other than a joint. The injured man appealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who ruled for him to receive blood money (diyah), but the injured man wanted retaliation (qisas). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah bless it for you," and he did not grant him retaliation.
