حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، صَاحِبُ الْمَغَازِي، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ عِيسَى، عَنْ أُمِّ جَعْفَرٍ بِنْتِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ عُمَيْسٍ، قَالَتْ: لَمَّا أُصِيبَ جَعْفَرٌ وَأَصْحَابُهُ، دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ عَجَنْتُ عَجِينَهُمْ وَغَسَلَتُ بَنِيَّ وَدَهَنْتُهُمْ وَنَظَّفْتُهُمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «ائْتِينِي بِبَنِي جَعْفَرٍ» قَالَتْ: فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِهِمْ فَشَمَّهُمْ وَذَرَفَتْ عَيْنَاهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي مَا يُبْكِيكَ؟ أَبَلَغَكَ شَيْءٌ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ وَأَصْحَابِهِ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، أُصِيبُوا هَذَا الْيَوْمَ» قَالَتْ: فَقُمْتُ أَصِيحُ وَاجْتَمَعَ إِلَى النِّسَاءِ، وَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَقَالَ: «لَا تُغْفِلُوا آلَ جَعْفَرٍ مِنْ أَنْ تَصْنَعُوا لَهُمْ طَعَامًا، فَإِنَّهُمْ قَدْ شُغِلُوا بِأَمْرِ صَاحِبِهِمْ»
Sayyidah Asma' bint Umays (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When Sayyiduna Ja'far (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions were martyred, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me when I had kneaded their dough, bathed my sons, oiled them and cleaned them up. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring me the sons of Ja'far." She said: So I brought them to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) smelled them and his (peace and blessings be upon him) eyes shed tears. I said: O Messenger of Allah! May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, why are you weeping? Has some news reached you about Ja'far and his companions? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, they were martyred today." She said: So I got up crying out, and the women gathered around me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to his family and said: "Do not neglect the family of Ja'far; prepare food for them, for they are preoccupied with the death of their man."
