Abdullah, the freed slave of Asma (may Allah be pleased with her), from her
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 20634 — she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، ثنا أَبِي، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ رَاشِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لِلنِّسَاءِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ: «مَنْ كَانَتْ مِنْكُنَّ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا تَرْفَعْ رَأْسَهَا حَتَّى يَرْفَعَ الرِّجَالُ رُءُوسَهُمْ» قَالَتْ: «لِأَنَّهُ كَانَتْ بَيْنَهُمْ حَادَّةٌ فَيَلْبَسُونَ ثِيَابًا تَقْصُرُ عَنْهُمْ فَتَبْدُو عَوْرَاتُهُمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say to the women from the pulpit: "Whoever among you believes in Allah and the Last Day, let her not raise her head until the men have raised their heads." Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Because in those days there was hardship among the people, so they wore garments that were too short for them, and their private parts would become exposed."
