Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 20632 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O women!

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، ثنا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا وُهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مَوْلًى، لِأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ، مَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُنَّ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا تَرْفَعِ امْرَأَةٌ رَأْسَهَا حَتَّى يَرْفَعَ الرِّجَالُ رُءُوسَهُمْ» وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ أُزُرَهُمْ كَانَتْ قَصِيرَةً مَخَافَةَ أَنْ تَنْكَشِفَ عَوْرَاتُهُمْ
Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O women! Whoever among you believes in Allah and the Last Day, let her not raise her head until the men have raised their heads." That was because their waist-wraps were short, for fear that their private parts might be exposed.
