Abdullah, the freed slave of Asma (may Allah be pleased with her), from her
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 20631 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، أَخُو الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَوْلًى لِأَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ مِنْكُنَّ بِاللهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا تَرْفَعْ رَأْسَهَا حَتَّى نَرْفَعَ رُءُوسَنَا» أَنْ يَرَيْنَ عَوْرَاتِ الرِّجَالِ لِقِصَرِ أُزُرِهِمْ، وَكَانُوا إِذْ ذَاكَ يَأْتَزِرْنَ هَذِهِ النَّمِرَةَ "
Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever among you (women) believes in Allah and the Last Day, let her not raise her head until we have raised our heads," lest they see the private parts of the men because of the shortness of their waist-wraps; and at that time they used to wear this striped sheet (namirah) as a waist-wrap.
