حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَعْلَى التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ يَعْلَى بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ مَكَّةَ بَعْدَمَا قُتِلَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، فَجَاءَتْ أُمُّهُ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَجُوزٌ، كَبِيرَةٌ، طَوِيلَةٌ، مَكْفُوفَةُ الْبَصَرِ، فَقَالَتْ لِلْحَجَّاجِ: «أَمَا آنْ لِهَذَا الرَّاكِبِ أَنْ يَنْزِلَ»
Ya'la bin Harmalah said: I entered Makkah after Ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) had been killed. Then his mother, Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), came; she was an old woman, advanced in age, tall and blind. She said to al-Hajjaj: "Is it not time for this rider to dismount?"
