حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ سُمَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ فِي شَيْءٍ، فَقَالَتْ لِي صَفِيَّةُ: هَلْ لَكِ أَنْ تُرْضِي رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِّي فَلَكِ يَوْمِي، فَلَبِسْتُ خِمَارًا كَانَتْ لِي مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ، وَنَضَحْتُهُ بِمَاءٍ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لِي: «إِلَيْكِ عَنِّي فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِيَوْمِكِ» ، فَقُلْتُ: ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ، وَأَخْبَرْتُهُ الْخَبَرَ فَرَضِيَ عَنْهَا
Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became displeased with Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) over something. So Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me: Can you make the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pleased with me? In return I will give you my day of turn. So I put on a head-covering of mine that was dyed with saffron and sprinkled it with water, then I came and sat beside the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Move away from me, this is not your day." I said: That is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whomever He wills. And I told him (peace and blessings be upon him) the whole story, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) became pleased with her.
