Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: There was a bluish mark around the eyes of Sayyidah Safiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her: "What is this bluish mark around your eyes?" She said: I had told my former husband that I had seen in a dream that a moon fell into my lap, so he slapped me and said: Do you want the king of Yathrib? At that time no one was more hateful to me than the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he had killed my father and my husband. But he (peace and blessings be upon him) kept apologising to me and saying: "Safiyyah! Your father incited the Arabs against me, and he did such-and-such." Until that feeling left my heart.
