حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي مَنِيعٍ الرُّصَافِيُّ، ثنا جَدِّي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: «تَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ خُزَيْمَةَ، وَهِيَ أُمُّ الْمَسَاكِينِ، سُمِّيَتْ لِكَثْرَةِ إِطْعَامِهَا الْمَسَاكِينَ، وَهِيَ مِنْ بَنِي هِلَالِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ صَعْصَعَةَ، وَتُوُفِّيَتْ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَيٌّ لَمْ تَلْبَثْ مَعَهُ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا»
Imam al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Sayyidah Zaynab bint Khuzaymah (may Allah be pleased with her). She was known as Umm al-Masakin (Mother of the Poor); she was given this name because she fed the poor so much. She was from Banu Hilal bin Amir bin Sa'sa'ah, and she passed away during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); her time with him (peace and blessings be upon him) was very short.
