حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْحِنَّائِيُّ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْهُذَلِيُّ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ: أَخْبَرَنِي بِأَعْجَبَ شَيْءٍ رَأَيْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ قَالَتْ لِي أُمِّي: يَا أَنَسُ، إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصْبَحَ عَرُوسًا، وَلَا أَرَى أَصْبَحَ لَهُ غَدَاءً فَهَلُمَّ تِلْكَ الْعُكَّةَ وَتَمْرًا قَدْرَ مُدٍّ، فَجَعَلَتْ لَهُ حَيْسًا، فَقَالَتْ: يَا أَنَسُ، اذْهَبْ بِهَذَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَامْرَأَتِهِ، فَلَمَّا أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَوْرٍ مِنْ حِجَارَةٍ فِيهِ ذَلِكَ الْحَيْسُ، قَالَ: «ضَعْهُ فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْبَيْتِ، وَاذْهَبْ فَادْعُ لِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ، وَعَلِيًّا، وَنَفَرًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، ثُمَّ ادْعُ لِي أَهْلَ الْمَسْجِدِ وَمَنْ رَأَيْتَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ» فَجَعَلْتُ أَتَعْجَبُ مِنْ قِلَّةِ الطَّعَامِ وَمَنْ كَثْرَةِ مِنْ يَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أَدْعُو مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَعْصِيهِ حَتَّى امْتَلَأَ الْبَيْتُ وَالْحُجْرَةُ، فَقَالَ: «يَا أَنَسُ هَلْ تَرَى مِنْ أَحَدٍ؟» قُلْتُ: لَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، فَقَالَ: «هَلُمَّ ذَاكَ التَّوْرَ» فَجِئْتُ بِذَلِكَ التَّوْرِ فَجَعَلْتُهُ قُدَّامَهُ فَغَمَسَ ثَلَاثَ أَصَابِعٍ فِي التَّوْرِ فَجَعَلَ التَّوْرُ يَرْبُو وَيَرْتَفِعُ، فَجَعَلُوا يَتَغَدَّوْنَ وَيَخْرُجُونَ حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغُوا أَجْمَعُونَ، بَقِيَ فِي التَّوْرِ نَحْوَ مَا جِئْتُ بِهِ، قَالَ: «ضَعْهُ قُدَّامَ زَيْنَبَ» فَخَرَجْتُ فَأَسْقَفْتُ عَلَيْهَا الْبَابَ مِنْ جَرِيدٍ قَالَ ثَابِتٌ: فَقُلْنَا: يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ، كَمْ تَرَى كَانُوا الَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ التَّوْرِ؟ قَالَ: «أَحْسَبُهُ وَاحِدًا وَسَبْعِينَ أَوِ اثْنَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ»
Thabit al-Bunani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I said to Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): Tell me the most amazing thing you saw from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: When the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) married Zaynab bint Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with her), my mother said to me: O Anas! The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has woken up as a bridegroom, and I do not think he (peace and blessings be upon him) has anything for his morning meal, so bring that skin of ghee and dates the amount of a mudd. Then she prepared hays for him (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Anas! Take this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his wife. When I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with a stone vessel containing that hays, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Put it in a corner of the house, and go and invite Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali and a few others of his companions for me, then invite for me the people of the mosque and whoever you see on the road." I began to marvel at how little food there was and how many people I was ordered to invite, but I did not like to disobey him (peace and blessings be upon him), until the house and the room were full. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Anas! Do you see anyone left?" I said: No, O Prophet of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring that vessel." So I brought that vessel and placed it in front of him (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) dipped three fingers into the vessel, and the vessel began to swell and rise. They began eating and going out, until when all of them had finished, about as much as I had brought remained in the vessel. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Place it in front of Zaynab." So I went out and covered the door for them with palm branches. Thabit said: We asked: O Abu Hamzah! How many do you think were those who ate from that vessel? He said: I think they were seventy-one or seventy-two.
