حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سِنَانَ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنَا قُرَيْشُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْبَجَلِيُّ، حَدَّثَتْنَا أَمَةُ اللهِ بِنْتُ مَذْعُورٍ، عَنْ أُمِّهَا، قَالَتْ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَهِيَ تُصَلِّي فِي دِرْعٍ وَخِمَارٍ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنِ الْعَلَمِ فِي الثَّوْبِ فَقَالَتْ: «كُنَّا نَلْبَسُ مِثْلَ هَذَا الثَّوْبِ لِثَوْبٍ عَلَيْهَا فِيهَا عَلَمٌ حَرِيرٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
The narrator's mother relates: I went in to Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) while she was praying in a shift and a head-covering, and I asked her about the border on a garment. She said: "In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) we used to wear a garment like this, which had a silk border."
