Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2025 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ الْأَخْرَمِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ، ثنا نَاصِحٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: «إِنَّكَ امْرُؤٌ مُسْتَخْلَفٌ وَإِنَّكَ مَقْتُولٌ وَهَذِهِ مَخْضُوبَةٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ» لِحْيَتُهُ مِنْ رَأْسِهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "You are a man who will be made caliph, and you will be killed (as a martyr), and this will be dyed from this" (meaning his beard would be coloured with the blood of his head).
