حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْعِجْلِيُّ، ثنا نَاصِحٌ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَغْدُو يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ حَتَّى يَأْكُلَ سَبْعَ تَمَرَاتٍ»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not go out (for the prayer) on the day of Eid al-Fitr until he had eaten seven dates.
