حَدَّثَنَا عَلَّانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ نَشِيطٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ شَهْرَ بْنَ حَوْشَبٍ، قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أُعَرِّفُهَا عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ، فَقَالَتْ لِي فِيمَا حَدَّثَتْنِي: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ فِي بَيْتِي يَوْمًا، وَإِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ جَاءَتْهُ بِسَخِيَّةٍ، فَقَالَ: «انْطَلِقِي فَجِيئِي بِزَوْجِكِ أَوِ ابْنِ عَمِّكِ وَابْنَيْكِ» ، فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَجَاءَتْ بِعَلِيٍّ وَحَسَنٍ وَحُسَيْنٍ، فَأَكَلُوا مِنْ ذَلِكَ الطَّعَامِ، وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى مَنَامَةٍ لَنَا، وَتَحْتَهُ كِسَاءٌ خَيْبَرِيٌّ فَأَخَذَ الْكِسَاءَ فَجَلَّلَهُمْ إِيَّاهُ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «اللهُمَّ هَؤُلَاءِ عِتْرَتِي وَأَهِلِّي فَأَذْهِبْ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ وَطَهِّرْهُمْ تَطْهِيرًا» ، فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَأَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ؟، فَقَالَ: «وَأَنْتِ إِلَى خَيْرٍ»
Shahr bin Hawshab (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: I came to Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) to offer condolences on the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), and she told me: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in my house one day when Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) brought him a dish of hot food. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and call your husband, or your cousin, and your two sons." So she went and brought Ali, Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them), and they ate from that food. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a bed of ours, under which was a Khaybari cloak. He (peace and blessings be upon him) took that cloak and spread it over all of them, then raised both his hands towards the sky and said: "O Allah, these are my offspring ('itrah) and my family (Ahl al-Bayt); remove all impurity from them and purify them thoroughly." Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! Am I also among your family (Ahl al-Bayt)? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are headed towards good."
