حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ: عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ - زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -، قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ انْكِحْ أُخْتِي بِنْتَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَوَ تُحِبِّينَ ذَلِكَ؟» ، قَالَتْ: مَا أَنَا بِمُخْلِيَةٍ، وَخَيْرُ مَنْ شَرِكَنِي فِي خَيْرٍ أُخْتِي، قَالَ: «إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِي» ، قَالَتْ: فَوَاللهِ إِنَّا لَنُحَدَّثُ أَنَّكَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَنْكِحَ دُرَّةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: «بِنْتَ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ؟» ، قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: «فَوَاللهِ لَوْ لَمْ تَكُنْ رَبِيبَتِي مَا حَلَّتْ لِي، إِنَّهَا لَابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ، لَقَدْ أَرْضَعَتْنِي وَإِيَّاهَا ثُوَيْبَةُ، فَلَا تَعْرِضْنَ عَلَيَّ بَنَاتِكُنَّ، وَلَا أَخَوَاتِكُنَّ»
Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: O Messenger of Allah! Marry my sister, the daughter of Abu Sufyan. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Would you like that?" She said: I am not the only one with a claim on you, and my sister is the best one to share with me in this good. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is not permissible for me." She said: By Allah! We are saying that you wish to marry Durrah bint Abi Salamah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The daughter of Umm Salamah?" She said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah! Even if she were not my stepdaughter, she would still not be lawful for me; she is the daughter of my foster brother. Thuwaybah nursed both me and her. So do not offer me your daughters or your sisters."
