حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ثنا عَمِّي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ، أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ - زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَخْبَرَتْهَا، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ انْكِحْ أُخْتِي بِنْتَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، فَزَعَمَتْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَهَا: «أَوَ تُحِبِّينَ ذَلِكَ؟» ، قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، لَسْتُ لَكَ بِمُخْلِيَةٍ وَأَحَبُّ مَنْ شَرِكَنِي فِي خَيْرٍ أُخْتِي، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِي» ، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا لَنَتَحَدَّثُ أَنَّكَ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَنْكِحَ دُرَّةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «بِنْتَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ؟» ، قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «فَأَيْمُ اللهِ لَوْ أَنَّهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ رَبِيبَتِي فِي حِجْرِي لَمَا حَلَّتْ لِي، لِأَنَّهَا بِنْتُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ أَرْضَعَتْنِي، وَأَبَا سَلَمَةَ ثُوَيْبَةُ، فَلَا تَعْرِضْنَ عَلَيَّ بَنَاتِكُنَّ، وَلَا أَخَوَاتِكُنَّ»
Zaynab bint Abi Salamah narrates that Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), told her that she said: O Messenger of Allah! Marry my sister, the daughter of Abu Sufyan. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to her: "Would you like that?" She said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah, I am not the only one with a claim on you, and the one I would most love to share with me in this good is my sister. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is not permissible for me." I said: O Messenger of Allah! We are saying that you wish to marry Durrah bint Abi Salamah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The daughter of Abu Salamah?" She said: Yes. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah! Even if she were not my stepdaughter under my care, she would still not be lawful for me, because she is the daughter of my foster brother; Thuwaybah nursed both me and Abu Salamah. So do not offer me your daughters or your sisters."
