Additions to the hadith of Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 19702 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ سَوَاءٍ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ: «يَصُومُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِثْنَيْنَ وَخَمِيسَ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to fast three days of every month: Monday and Thursday.
