Aishah bint Abi Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with them both), wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (he gave her the kunyah Umm Abdullah after Abdullah bin al-Zubayr; the mother of Aishah and her brother Abd al-Rahman was Umm Ruman bint Amir bin Uwaymir bin Abd Shams bin Abd Manaf bin Udhaynah bin Subay' bin Dahman bin al-Harith bin Abd bin Malik) — Chapter

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: " أُعْطِيتُ خِصَالًا مَا أُعْطِيَتْهَا امْرَأَةٌ: مَلَكَنِي وَأَنَا بِنْتُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ، وَأَتَاهُ الْمَلَكُ بِصُورَتِي فِي كَفِّهِ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا، وَبَنَى بِي وَأَنَا بِنْتُ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ، وَرَأَيْتُ جِبْرِيلَ وَلَمْ تَرَهُ امْرَأَةٌ غَيْرِي، وَكُنْتُ أَحَبَّ نِسَائِهِ إِلَيْهِ، وَكَانَ أَبِي أَحَبَّ أَصْحَابِهِ إِلَيْهِ، وَمَرِضَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرْضَتَهُ وَلَمْ تَشْهَدْهُ غَيْرِي وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ "
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: I was given qualities that were not given to any other woman: he (peace and blessings be upon him) married me when I was six years old; and the angel came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) with my image in his palm, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at it. And the marriage was consummated when I was nine years old. And I saw Jibril (peace be upon him), while no woman other than me saw him. And I was the most beloved of his (peace and blessings be upon him) wives to him, and my father was the most beloved of his (peace and blessings be upon him) Companions to him. And during the illness in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, no one other than me and the angels was present with him.
