Aishah bint Abi Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with them both), wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) (he gave her the kunyah Umm Abdullah after Abdullah bin al-Zubayr; the mother of Aishah and her brother Abd al-Rahman was Umm Ruman bint Amir bin Uwaymir bin Abd Shams bin Abd Manaf bin Udhaynah bin Subay' bin Dahman bin al-Harith bin Abd bin Malik)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 19367 — the Prophet ﷺ asked Abu Bakr

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنِ الْأَجْلَحِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، قَالَ: «خَطَبُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَائِشَةَ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَدْ زَوَّجَهَا جُبَيْرَ بْنَ مُطْعِمٍ فَخَلَعَهَا مِنْهُ، فَزَوَّجَهَا رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهِيَ ابْنَةُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ، تَرَكَهَا ثَلَاثَ سِنِينَ، ثُمَّ بَنَى بِهَا وَهِيَ بِنْتُ تِسْعِ سِنِينَ»
Ibn Abi Mulaykah narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) for the hand of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), while Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) had earlier given her in marriage to Jubayr bin Mut'im. So he had that marriage dissolved and gave her in marriage to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time she was six years old. He (peace and blessings be upon him) left her for three years, then consummated the marriage with her when she was nine years old.
