حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصَفَّى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَهُوَ حَامِلٌ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ أُمَامَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ وَأُمُّهَا زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكَانَ إِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَهَا عَنْ عَاتِقِهِ، وَإِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ سُجُودِهِ حَمَلَهَا عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ بِهَا حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out for the prayer while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was carrying on his shoulder Umamah bint Abi al-As bin al-Rabi', whose mother was Sayyidah Zaynab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When he (peace and blessings be upon him) bowed, he would take her down from his shoulder, and when he finished his prostration, he would lift her onto his shoulder again. He kept doing this continuously until he finished the prayer.
