Umamah bint Abi al-As bin al-Rabi' bin Abd al-Uzza bin Abd Shams bin Abd Manaf, the daughter of Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her), daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُثْمَانِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، وابْنِ عَجْلَانَ سَمِعَا عَامِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ وَأُمَامَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ، فَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَهَا وَإِذَا رَفَعَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ أَعَادَهَا»
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) leading the people in prayer while Umamah bint Abi al-As bin al-Rabi' was on his (peace and blessings be upon him) shoulder. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) bowed, he would put her down, and when he raised his head from prostration, he would pick her up again.
