حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَادِ ثنا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ الْعَبْسِيُّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ دِعَامَةَ قَالَ: " كَانَتْ رُقْيَةُ عِنْدَ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي لَهَبٍ، فَلَمَّا أَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى: " {تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ} [المسد: ١] سَأَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُتْبَةَ طَلَاقَ رُقْيَةَ، وَسَأَلَتْهُ رُقْيَةُ ذَلِكَ فَطَلَّقَهَا فَتَزَوَّجَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ رُقْيَةَ وَتُوُفِّيَتْ عِنْدَهُ "
Qatadah bin Di'amah narrated: Sayyidah Ruqayyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was married to Utbah bin Abi Lahab. When Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, revealed the verse: "The two hands of Abu Lahab have perished" [Surah al-Masad: 1], the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) demanded that Utbah divorce Sayyidah Ruqayyah, and Sayyidah Ruqayyah herself also demanded it, so he divorced her. Then Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) married Sayyidah Ruqayyah, and she died while married to him.
