حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، ثنا سِمَاكٌ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ، فَسَأَلْتُ الْقَوْمَ كُلَّهُمْ، فَقَالُوا: قَالَ: «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»
Simak bin Harb said: I heard Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "After me there will be twelve leaders (amirs)." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said something that I could not understand, so I asked all the people, and they told me: He (peace and blessings be upon him) had said: "All of them will be from Quraysh."
