حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّنَابِلِ بْنِ بَعْكَكٍ، قَالَ: وَضَعَتْ سُبَيْعَةُ حَمْلَهَا بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا بِثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ خَمْسَةٍ وَعِشْرِينَ يَوْمًا، فَلَمَّا تَعَلَّتْ تَشَوَّقَتِ الْأَزْوَاجَ فَعِيبَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهَا فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «وَمَا مَنَعَهَا؟ وَقَدِ انْقَضَى أَجَلُهَا»
Sayyiduna Abu al-Sanabil bin Ba'kak (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sayyidah Subay'ah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave birth twenty-three or twenty-five days after the death of her husband. When she became pure from her postnatal bleeding, she showed a desire to marry, and she was reproached for it. This was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is stopping her? Her waiting period has already been completed."
