Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 19080 — he was sitting with the Messenger

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Namlah al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when a man from among the Jews came and said: O Muhammad! Does this deceased person speak? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah knows best." The Jew said: I bear witness that it speaks. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever the People of the Book tell you, neither believe it nor deny it, and say: We believe in Allah, His Books and His Messengers. If it is true, you will not have called them liars, and if it is false, you will not have believed them."
