حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الشِّيرَازِيُّ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ نُصَيْرٍ، ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رِمْثَةَ، قَالَ: انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ، يَقُولُ: «يَدُ الْمُعْطِي هِيَ الْعُلْيَا أُمَّكَ وَأَبَاكَ، ثُمَّ أُخْتَكَ وَأَخَاكَ، ثُمَّ أَدْنَاكَ أَدْنَاكَ» ، فَجَاءَ نَاسٌ مِنْ بَنِي يَرْبُوعٍ، فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَذِهِ بَنُو يَرْبُوعٍ قَتَلَتْ فُلَانًا، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّهَا لَا تَجْنِي نَفْسٌ عَلَى أُخْرَى»
Sayyiduna Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon, saying: "The hand that gives is the upper hand; (spend) on your mother and your father, then on your sister and your brother, then on whoever is nearest, then whoever is nearest." Just then some people of Banu Yarbu' came and said: O Messenger of Allah, Banu Yarbu' have killed so-and-so. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No soul bears the offence of another."
