حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَا: ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا وَحْشِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبِ بْنِ وَحْشِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّا نَأْكُلُ فَلَا نَشْبَعُ قَالَ: «فَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَفْتَرِقُونَ» قَالُوا: نَعَمْ قَالَ: «فَاجْتَمِعُوا عَلَى طَعَامِكُمْ، وَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهِ يُبَارَكْ لَكُمْ فِيهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wahshi bin Harb (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Messenger of Allah! We eat but we are not satisfied. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps you eat separately?" They said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then gather together for your food and mention the name of Allah over it; you will be blessed in it."
