Warrad, the scribe of Sayyiduna al-Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him), relates that Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to al-Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him): Write to me something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So he wrote to him: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade idle talk, asking excessive questions, wasting wealth, disobedience to mothers, burying daughters alive, and withholding (what one should give) and constantly demanding.
