حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ قَالَ: بَعَثَ الْعَبَّاسُ ابْنَهُ الْفَضْلَ وَبَعَثَنِي أَبِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، فَانْطَلَقْنَا حَتَّى دَخَلْنَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُوسٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ، قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» سَجَدَ فِي النَّجْمِ فَسَجَدَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ " قَالَ الْمُطَّلِبُ: «وَلَمْ أَسْجُدْ مَعَهُمْ» - وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُشْرِكٌ - قَالَ الْمُطَّلِبُ: «فَلَا أَدَعُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا»
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُوسٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ، قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» سَجَدَ فِي النَّجْمِ فَسَجَدَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ " قَالَ الْمُطَّلِبُ: «وَلَمْ أَسْجُدْ مَعَهُمْ» - وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُشْرِكٌ - قَالَ الْمُطَّلِبُ: «فَلَا أَدَعُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا»
Sayyiduna Abd al-Muttalib bin Rabi'ah bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sayyiduna al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) sent his son al-Fadl, and my father Rabi'ah bin al-Harith sent me. We set off until we came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); then the narrator mentioned a similar hadith.
Sayyiduna al-Muttalib bin Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)" prostrate in Surah al-Najm, and the people prostrated with him. Al-Muttalib said: "I did not prostrate with them" - he was a polytheist at that time - al-Muttalib said: "So I will never leave prostrating in it."
Sayyiduna al-Muttalib bin Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)" prostrate in Surah al-Najm, and the people prostrated with him.
