Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17640 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: No

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّحَّاسُ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ مَعْقِلِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَيْسَ رَجُلٌ يَلِي قَوْمًا، ثُمَّ لَا يَحُوطُهُمْ كَمَا يَحُوطُ نَفْسَهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا أَدْخَلَهُ اللهُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ»
Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "No man takes charge of a people and then does not protect them as he protects himself and his family, except that Allah Almighty will admit him into the Fire of Hell."
