Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17638 — he asked Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar

It is narrated from Abu Abdullah al-Jasri (may Allah have mercy on him) that he asked Sayyiduna Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) about drinks, and he said: We were in Madinah, and there was an abundance of fruit there, "so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared 'fadikh' (a drink made from unripe dates) unlawful."
