Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17481 — from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal

Al-Ala' bin Ziyad al-Adawi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "The devil is the wolf of man, like the wolf of the sheep: he seizes the sheep that strays, the one that is far off, and the one left at the edge."
