Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 17480 — from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal

Al-Ala' bin Ziyad al-Adawi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the devil is the wolf of man, like the wolf of the sheep: he seizes the one that is far off and the one that strays (from the flock). Beware of the narrow paths, and hold fast to the general body, the community and the mosques."
