It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) divided Khaybar, he divided it into eighty shares. The fighting men numbered one thousand eight hundred and the horses two hundred, with four hundred shares for the horsemen: each share being equivalent to eighteen hundred shares. Each hundred shares had a head: Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was a head, Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was a head, Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) was a head, Sayyiduna al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) was a head, and Asim bin Adi (may Allah be pleased with him) was a head; and the share of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was with Asim bin Adi (may Allah be pleased with him).
