حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ الْجُمَحِيِّ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «لَا تُبَادِرُونِي بِالرُّكُوعِ والسُّجُودِ فَإِنِّي مَا أَسْبِقُكُمْ بِهِ حِينَ أَسْجُدُ تُدْرِكُونِي بِهِ إِذَا رَفَعْتُ، وَمَا أَسْبِقُكُمْ بِهِ حِينَ أَرْكَعُ تُدْرِكُونِي بِهِ حِينَ أَرْفَعُ، وَإِنِّي قَدْ بَدُنْتُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not race ahead of me in bowing and prostration, for when I prostrate you catch up with me when you rise, and when I bow you catch up with me when you rise. Indeed, I have grown heavy with age."
