Muhammad bin Uqbah, freed slave of the family of al-Zubayr, from Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16839 — Mu'awiyah gave a sermon and said

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، وَبَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، قَالَا: ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، قَالَ: خَطَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ فَتَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ مِمَّا يُنْكِرُهُ النَّاسُ فَرَدُّوا عَلَيْهِ فَسَّرَهُ ذَلِكَ، وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «يَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ يَقُولُونَ وَلَا يُرَدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ يَتَهَافَتُونَ فِي النَّارِ يَتْبَعُ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا»
Muhammad bin Uqbah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) gave a sermon and said something that the people disapproved of, so they objected to him. Upon that he explained it and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There will be rulers who will speak and their word will not be rejected; they will tumble into the Fire, one following another."
