Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16760 — from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Shibl

Abu Rashid al-Hubrani (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Shibl (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When you come to my tent, stand up among the people and tell them what I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the merchants are the wicked." A man said: O Messenger of Allah, has Allah not made trade lawful? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They speak and lie, and they swear oaths and sin."
