Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16735 — I was taking a midday rest in a church

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: I was taking a midday rest in a church in Jericho (Ariha), which at that time was a mosque in which prayer was offered. The narrator said: Awf bin Malik woke from his sleep and saw that there was a lion with him in the house, walking towards him. He got up in alarm and went for his weapon, but the lion said to him: Stop! I have only been sent to you with a message so that you may convey it. I said: Who sent you? It said: Allah has sent me to you so that you inform Mu'awiyah al-Rahhal that he is among the people of Paradise. I said: Who is Mu'awiyah? It said: Ibn Abi Sufyan.
