حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ: أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَرَآهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَشْعَثَ أَغْبَرَ فِي هَيْئَةِ أَعْرَابِيٍّ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: «مَا لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» ، قَالَ: مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ، قَالَ: «فَإِنَّ اللهَ إِذَا أَنْعَمَ عَلَى الْعَبْدِ نِعْمَةً أَحَبَّ أَنْ تُرَى عَلَيْهِ» ،
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Malik bin Nadlah al-Jushami (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw him dishevelled, dusty and in the appearance of a Bedouin, so he said to him: "What wealth do you have?" He said: Every kind of wealth Allah has given me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when Allah bestows a blessing upon a servant, He loves that it be seen upon him."
